As a bagpiper this one is very handy to have. I don't always have access to a metronome that I can hear when practicing so this makes a great alternative to those situations. Easy to use and it plugs into the metronomes that I do have, one of which is pocket sized. There are different pulse settings available so you can chose the intensity of the pulse from the device.
