This is an excellent tuner, metronome, and timer. The strobe timer has unparalleled accuracy. The unit also has an input port for plugging in a 1/4 cable if you have an electric or acoustic-electric guitar so you can tune it directly (although the microphone on the unit picks up sounds very well). The metronome has a number of helpful features. There are about 5 sounds you can select from. I like using the human voice sound for one main reason - rather than a click, click, click (which is the same sound for each beat), the voice says the beat number. It helps me confirm I am staying with the beat. If it says "2" and I am changing chords, I know I am behind. You can also save various beats per minute parameters and easily access the saved setting. Also, there is an input port for headphones. You can assign custom screen colors for different settings so you can see at a glance you're on the right one. I also purchased the black zipper case for the tuner. But the unit does come in a very sturdy box, with a similar foam liner similar to the one inside the zippered case. So if you want to store the unit when not in use, the box it comes in really quite good.
