The new StroboClip HDC is great. It's my 3rd StoboClip. The original Silver version had issues with the clip, I wrapped a rubber band around it and gave it to my daughter, she won't use it much. I then bought the next model which was much improved physically. When I went to buy a new one for my guitar student, they were banned in Australia because of the ease of access to the button battery (which it seems young children like to eat :-( ) So I ordered 2 of the new rechargeable version (one for him and a spare for me). It arrived last week. And it's even better than the previous one. I wasn't sure I'd want to connect it to the Internet (being an ICT Security guy). But after charging it, I connected it to Peterson connect, registered it and updated the firmware. I'd never go back to a digital tuner, not that the good ones are useless (I still have a really nice Korg), but the sampling lag and "dead Zone" inherent in that design makes them no where near as good as the StroboClip (real time tuning and way more accurate). I toyed with the idea of the rack version, but I can use the StroboClip on any of my instruments. If I ever get back into doing serious guitar work again, I'll most likely buy the $4,500 (SC5000-II) desk top version with mechanical wheels.
